Primer

Build Fundamentals: Weapons & Stats

Where Winds Meet doesn't lock you into a class. A build is a weapon pairing plus the stats and skills that support it, so understanding the system matters more than copying any single loadout.

The dual-weapon system

You equip two weapons at once and swap between them freely in combat. Each weapon type — Sword, Spear, Dual Blades, Mo Blade, Fan, Umbrella, Rope Dart — has its own range, moveset and role. Strong builds pair weapons that cover each other: a safe ranged option with a heavy melee finisher, or a tanky control weapon with a burst weapon.

Stat priority — DPS

For damage, invest roughly in this order:

  • Physical Attack — the baseline multiplier behind everything you do.
  • Affinity Rate — triggers your elemental and proc damage; more affinity means more procs, which means more damage.
  • Precision Rate (crit chance) — bosses are damage sponges, so crits are how you actually chew through them.
  • Crit Damage — scales the size of those crits once your crit chance is healthy.
  • Penetration — ignores part of the enemy's defence; especially strong against tanky targets.

Stat priority — Support

Support flips the order: survivability first (HP and defence), then healing effectiveness, then team-utility amplification. A support that dies helps no one.

Gear affixes

Roll Crit and Penetration affixes on DPS gear; supports look for healing and cooldown-reduction affixes. Before you spend upgrade materials, check the change in a DPS simulator or gear calculator — small affix swaps can move your damage more than a full weapon level.
